Our Impact
Zach Thompson
Zach is a graduate of Brunswick High School, Frederick County Career & Technology Center in Automotive Mechanics and a member of 4-H for 10 years. He will be attending University of Northwestern Ohio in Lima, Ohio where he will be studying Agricultural Mechanics. He is excited about being able to pursue his passion for mechanics while remaining involved in the agricultural community.
2024 UPDATE: Zach has completed his first year of classes with a GPA of 3.33. He completed courses including Combines, Equipment Electronics, Hydraulics, Drive trains and more. He is looking forward to next year with classes in Welding, Diesel Diagnostics and Electronics.
Zach is looking forward to completing next year’s classes and bringing his new knowledge into the workforce. Thanks to your continuous support, we will be awarding him another scholarship to help cover books and equipment cost for next year’s classes.
Yesenia Barrgan
Yasenia is a resident of Solomons, Maryland. She is attending Blades School of Hair Design, and is looking forward to getting her cosmetology license. Her goal is to one day have her own small salon. What she enjoys most about cosmetology is making people feel confident about how they look and feel good about themselves.
2024 UPDATE: Yesenia has graduated! Funds from her scholarship were used to pay down her student loans. After graduation she started working in a local salon, and loving it. Recently she has gotten married, relocated and is looking forward to working in a salon in her new location.
Scholarship Qualifications
- Between the ages of 16 to 24
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Pursuing a career in trades
- Willing to give 100% to achieve that goal
- Respect the fact that many supporters gave their hard-earned money to give you this opportunity, vow not to squander it
